4. Who's the boy on the cover of Boy and War?

His name is Peter Rowan. He was a kid who lived across the street in front of Bono's house in Dublin. He's the brother of Derek "Guggi" Rowan, and Strongman - both of which were in the Virgin Prunes. Peter later became skate-board champion of Ireland, works in a skate-board shop and has also had various acting parts, notably in The Commitments and The Snapper. In The Commitments, Peter plays the kid who wants to audition for Jimmy's band, and is carrying a skateboard in his arms as he yells to Jimmy from the street below. More recently, Peter was one of the pallbearers at the funeral of Bono's father, Bob, who died August 21, 2001. (He joined Bono, Edge, Larry, Guggi, and Bono's brother Norman as pallbearers.) A little off topic here, but I find that rather touching, his friends helping him with that task.

Just wanted to say that. Carry on with the discussion at hand. :).

Damn that irish man looks hot. Turned out to be a looker. The photo of him and Bono when he was younger is just darling.

Why exactly did the American version not have this photo? Did it have something to do with looking too child pornish, that's what I always assumed but never really researched.

Indeed, that was the reason they used a different cover in the USA.

Thanks. I had always wondered who the 6th pallbearer was. I was able to recognize everyone else in the news photos, but not him. I wonder what determined the choice of pallbearers? Given the way they carry the casket in Ireland, on the shoulders, my first guess would be height. (You wouldn't want anyone significantly taller than the others, hence no Gavin.)
