my fiance and i are planning our wedding. and we would like everyones input on what the first dance song should be.
right now we are thinking,

all i want is you - the edited shorter version
when the stars go blue - bono and the corrs.

any other suggestions?

what about other songs during the ceremony? possible instrumental versions? wedding reception music?
what u2 songs would be best?

I agree with everyone else about All I want Is You. Another song you might want to add is the The Sweetest Thing.

Eh, who cares about the I'm losing you part. All I Want is You is a tormented love song too. You want this this and this but all I want is you. at least that's my interpretation.

They're all a bit darker than the average love song. Just the nature of Bono's lyrics. "All I Want Is You" is your best bet, since it seems appropriate lyrically and is a beautiful song in its own right.

true there really isnt a u2 love song, as you would normally hear a love song. i always thought of them as the anti-love song, love song.

I'm always recommending Ultraviolet for these wedding threads, it's my favorite U2 "love" song. Bono really doesn't write many.
