I'm not gonna vote. I hate when I see U2 songs associated with stuff like this (political campaigns, championship ad's, etc...).

Not sure this is a good reason not to vote. It's easy to be cynical at this point, and anything will be an improvement over the last 6.5 years, but we need all the smart people voting that we can get!

I think he meant he wasn't going to vote for the official song of Hilary's campaign, not nore vote for president.

But considering he is from Portugal he probably shouldn't be voting in US elections anyway

are you kidding me? how is Hillary Clinton a socialist liberal?
I find it amusing when politicians use songs like "Born in the USA" and "Beautiful Day" for their campaign. I mean seriously, listen to the damn lyrics.

Calling Hilary a socialist liberal is giving her the benefit of the doubt.

Calling her an opertunsitic power monger is much more accurate. Even her own employees don't like her.

I've read just the opposite. And I think her smart, logical, experienced, strong, a good listener ...you know, what one should look for in a leader.

ps I voted for the Temptations.

 this is true

i voted for something that wasn't U2..all i could do to keep my favorite band's name from being shamed yet again by a clinton! argh!

though i do love the SBS at clinton library opening :reject:

Beautiful Day was used by Matt Santos when he became president in West Wing! :|

Hilary Clinton has the personality of a cardboard box with a nail sticking out the side.

I would have voted if Revolution 9 would be an option, but it wasn't, so I'm abstaining.

I met a very charming cardboard box with 2 nails sticking out the side once.

Clinton Campaign Song Competition Draws Huge Online Response:
More than 60,000 Votes Cast, 285,000 Watch Video

Hillary Clinton's challenge to supporters to pick her campaign theme song has generated a tremendous response online, with more than 60,000 casting votes in little more than 24 hours since the competition launched.

Clinton posted a video on YouTube's "You Choose '08 Spotlight" on Wednesday afternoon, poking fun at her singing abilities and urging voters to visit her website and select a theme song or suggest their favorite. More than 285,000 people have watched the video, as the blogs and network television have drawn attention to Clinton's innovative web campaign.

"Our song competition has generated an incredible amount of energy and excitement online," said Clinton Campaign Internet Director Peter Daou. "By utilizing the Web in unique ways, we can continue our conversation with voters and reach thousands of Americans every day."

Clinton's website had already drawn thousands of visitors this week, after launching a text messaging effort to personally engage voters on their cell phones, and posting a video from President Clinton discussing why Hillary would make the best President.

On Monday, Hillary called on her supporters to text "JOIN" to 77007 to sign up for her text messaging effort that will provide people with campaign updates and photos.

And a video posted by President Clinton was one of the top-rated videos on YouTube this week, with more than 500,000 views on YouTube and Hillary's website and regular play on cable TV.

Is she even aware that Obama is already using COBL? Unless she frightened him into giving it up. And John Kerry used BD in his campaign in 2004. I would think that she would want something that hasn't been used yet by her opponent and a failed campaign.

I must say that I am surprised and impressed by all the Hillary bashing that is going on here. I will hence dispose of my opinion that almost all U2 fans are crazed liberals. I apologize to all of you. Except to the real crazed liberals.

again...I'm still not seeing the whole Hilary=crazed liberal connection
I agree though, if she wants a U2 song, she should aim for a song that hasn't already been used. Zoo Station would be a fun campaign song.

Crazed Liberal!

I live in NY, and Senator Clinton has done a great job as our senator. I believe that much of the criticism I hear about Hillary stems from her being a women who is strong and ambitious. Hence, the BITCH remarks. It's just crap that if you vote for Hillary you are a bleeding liberal. I am offended by that kind of talk. And yes, I am a women who pays attention to current affairs, knows our history, and participates in the elections.

I am also a woman who understands current affairs, and live in the state where Hillary was our first lady before Bill ran for president, but there is no chance that I will vote for her. I have no problem with women being ambitious, but I'm scared at the thought of her becoming president.

What's the problem with Hillary ?

Do you prefer someone like Bush at the White House ?
Why don't you just vote for Mr Mc Phisto?

Absoluetly not, the day that Bush is out is when our country may breathe a sigh of relief, but I just feel that Hillary is very power-hungry, and will do anything, whether it be swaying her views to get approval from different people, or just flat out lie. I just wish she would say what she believes and stick to it. If somebody could relieve me of these feelings I would love to hear some evidence to prove me wrong.

I've witnessed the opposite as far as changing her views. She has proved that she doesn't cave easily... e.g. not appologizing for voting for the war even though she knew it would get her more voters. She held her ground saying that she made a choice on the facts presented to her. And I admire her for being a go getter. Time magazine has an article about her this week stating she is the most experienced and informed candidate on security and that goes a log way with me.

I guess I've hijacked this site long enough since it's about voting for a song and not a person. Please forgive.

I agree. As a liberal, I'm not sure who my vote is going for, but I think a lot of the ill-informed hatred of Hill can be chalked up to some pretty ingrained misogyny in this country. All politicians are ambitious. If Hill was a dude with the same credentials, stances, etc. she would have a lock on '08.
