I am quite certain U2 did not play any private party at the Olympics. Things like that don't typically stay secret.

It wasn't a secret, it was widely reported before Olympics opened.

I haven't heard anything here in SLC. It was reported that the organizers wanted U2 to play one of the nights for the medals ceremony because they would be in town anyway for a private party, but there's been nothing since. There is supposed to be a private concert just for the athletes the night before closing ceremonies so maybe that's what it is.
