Hi all. I'm back.

Came across this:

Whilst browsing some sites on U2 searching for news on the forthcoming concerts at Croke Park, I was shocked to encounter a link that read News: Mad Irish fans already queuing up

The link to the aformentioned remark can be found at http://www.u2log.com/departures/

I clicked on the link as U2Log normally sources their sources correctly, especially, the headline. The site where the story was located is that of the Irish Independent and the headline for the accompanying story is not what U2Log wrote but this U2 fans rough it in quest for coveted tickets

To view the page U2Log were referring to visit http://www.unison.ie/irish_independent/stories.php3?ca=42&si=1331034&issue_id=12024 This site requires registration.

I must say I take great offence at U2Log for using the terminology they have to describe the Irish. In times when the Irish are commanding world respect it is so sad to see a website potray the Irish in this manner.

I appeal for U2log.com to withdraw the remark and to issue an apology.

Mad Irish fans is that it, it's not like they said anything about us really

I think it's just an innocuous play on words, and probably playing off of the recent ticketing debacles and nothing more.

I'm pretty sure U2Log always comes up with humorous titles to their news stories. I'm sure no offense was meant with it.

Very funny.

bullshit.

if you're offended by that, i feel sorry for you.
the word "offended" gets thrown around with such little regard to what the word actually means. the word offended to me now has very little meaning. whenever i pick up the newspaper, someone's offended. i read the editorials, and people are offended. i turn on the news, and someone's offended.

the fcc are going to increase the maximum on obscenity fines 8-fold (from $32500 to $275000) so less people will be offended.
