U2 SET FOR 2ND MANDELA GIG

by TINA CALDER

ROCK gods U2 and The Corrs are preparing for a second concert in South
Africa next year.

The 46664 South Africa show, organised by former president Nelson
Mandela,

It aims to raise awareness of the Nelson Mandela Foundation's continued
fight against Aids.

Next year's concert will focus on the plight of women in sub-Saharan
Africa, who are most affected by Aids.

The full line-up will be unveiled early next year.

Many international artists, including several major female singers and
South African stars, are expected to be performing at the event.

The first concert, which was held in November 2003, starred Bono and
Beyonce Knowles and saw 30,000 people turn up in support.

The concert will take place at the Fancourt Hotel and Country Club
Estate on 19 March.

Let's hope that this is true! It would be great to see all of U2, not just the Edge and Bono, take part in this concert for the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

This concert would take place right after U2's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March so it is plausible.

Just thought you should know.
