U2 to cover Ramones

Just was reading this in Jam and thought I'd share;

U2 and Tom Waits have joined the cast of contributors to the forthcoming Ramones tribute CD being compiled by Rob Zombie.

U2 will take a run at "Beat On The Brat," while Waits will try "Jacky And Judy."

Zombie's official website (robzombie.com) said the singer is applying the "finishing touches" on the project, which is due for release this summer.

Previously announced contributors include Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Pretenders, Garbage, Motorhead, Green Day, and Metallica.

Here's the current track list for the set:

They already have. It's been out for a couple years now, and it's not really too bad. They didn't stray far from the orignal.

As I was opening this thread I was thinking" who will do "Blitzkreig Bop"? I didn't think it would be U2. I think RZ will do it justice. I have a very soft spot for that song. We worked for a covers band years ago, "The Injectorz" and that was one of my fave pogoing songs they covered...A O let's go....

They used to do Sheena is a Punk Rocker too.


hmmmmmmm SPRUNG!! I have just realised , my hub's last band recorded a song called "Paula Was a Punk Rocker" about this pommy backpacker that travelled with them for a while(I was insanely jealous of her, but at least U2 got a mention in the song)I never made the connection with the Ramones song before. Why I outta.....

METALLICA!!! yay I'll be buying it. Hurry up RZ.
