My favorite performances:

Springsteen - "My City In Ruins" - beautiful, poignant song with a great performance
U2 - POE/Walk On - nuff said
Eddie Vedder and Neal Young - "The Long Road" - great song, Eddie really putting emotion into it.
Sting - Fragile - gorgeous song!

Least favorite:
Limp Bizkit - Wish You Were Here - good lord they know how to absolutely butcher a song. Fred needs to take some voice lessons so he knows that it's not good enough to end a verse on-key - you need to start out on key as well. And those added verses were corny and unoriginal.

(can you tell I don't like Limp Bizkit?)

Thanks for the heads up, U2LA.

And on an unrelated matter - I love DSL. 118k/sec downloads are sweeeet.

U2 was unbelievable. So inspired and emotional like always. That's another reason I love U2, they play each song as if it was the last night on earth or the last song they are ever going to play.

Can anyone tell me who all the backing singers were. Ok, the was Dave Stewart there on Guitar, Natalie Imbruglia was one of the singers, but the other 2 leave me lost.

One of them looks like Patti Smith?? The other guy at first glance could be Zack De La Rocha? I really need to know. Well, not really but I would like to know.

Peace on Earth.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't one of the backup singers look like the Edge's girlfriend? Not Natalie Imbruglia, but the one with the long black hair.

I think the fact that, while all the others were singing "America, America" and "God bless America", U2 did a song like "Peace on Earth", shows how grand and universal this band is.

And the message was clear and so important:

'I'm sick of hearing again and again
that there's never gonna be
...peace on earth'

I liked Celine's redition of "God Bless America"....I thought it touching...it goes along with the idea that now with what someone said "Today we are all Americans"...and Canadians are Americans...sort of....

Trust In God...But Lock Your Doors

Samo, I agree with you and I can't believe no one has mentioned it yet!! The other back up singer with U2 besides Natalie Imbruglia and the guy was Edge's girlfriend Morleigh.

I'm incredibly saddened!!
I only saw from Sting onward, which still had some amazing stuff, but I so wish i had seen U2.
DAMN!
I'm sure there will be repeats aplenty!

I can't find the link. I know that's silly and it must be obvious, but I still can't find it. Can someone post the link and then I will substitute you two for the ******.

Thanks

My local listings had the time wrong so I only got the last hour on tape and so missed U2. Anybody willing to send me a copy? Please please? I'm watching it now from the link above (thank you!!), but I'd love to have the entire thing on tape. Will send blank tape with SASE and make a donation in your name.

Wow, sounds like a superb show!!!!!! Well, I was out last night, I had heard nothing about this, and didn't think it would be on live in Ireland, but it was! Saw the last few performances, but thankfully, and for the rest of the Irish who missed out, it is on Network 2 at 10:45 tonight

Could people watching worldwide make contributuions?

Did see it here in Holland, poor Dave.
