I happen to love the remixes! I'm with Edge all the way here- remix 'em all! I know Bono goofs on Edge about that- but Edge should know he has my support!!

I think the remixes rock and really give a chance for each of the band members to experiment - especially Bono with his lyics and his vocals. And I love hearing how songs can develop or sound all mixed up.. like New Years Day, or some of the MW remixes... SATS rocks, too.. what do you guys think?

they provide a great excuse to buy the singles, too!

Bono: There is a bit of my guitar playing, but honestly it's sad.
Larry: It is. But Bono looks great with it.

Wild Horses, Two Hearts Beat As One, God Part II, Please, & Salome are just a few of the remixes I prefer to the originals..

i like most of them, never better than the original however except for the WGRYWH, i think it's called temple bar edit or something like that.
i must say the sad bastard mix of SATS is one of the worst songs ever.

Yeah, I made some U2 rarities CDs for Sicy one time, and as I was listening to them, I realized I had put Sad Bastards instead of Monster Truck and I felt soooo stupid.

Remixes are great, I love most of them because they show how versitile many U2 songs are and let you experience them in a whole new way. One of the remixes I never understood was the "First Night in Hell" remix of Last Night on Earth. What the f*ck is that!? It has nothing to do with the original song and it's the A-side of CD2 single for LNOE. I'll bet a bunch of people picked that up thinking it was something similar to LNOE, but they got a mush of crap. Okay, i'm done bashing that. Other notable flops include MoFo (Mothers Mix), SATS (Sad Bastards Mix), and Elevation (Escalation Mix).

Yeah, but for the #1 example of what a remix should be, I present to you the Perfecto Remix of Mysterious Ways. (right click -> save as.

yeah, your right on the Last Night in Hell Mix, Achtung Zooropa! No idea what that is! I mean its a decent instrumental but how the hell is that a remix of LNOE.

but i think the worst remix i ever heard was The Playboy Mansion (Porno Remix). I love that song, so I couldnt wait to hear the remix of it........man, was i disappointed!
All it is is the beginning guitar line with Larry coming in for a few seconds, and that repeated over and over and over again for the ENTIRE song!

I SO wish they'd remix Joshua Tree...the sound is somewhat muddy, esp. the vocals, and it would be nice if they would put it out as the "complete" JT album....what, there's only like, 10 songs on that one?

if we can get some awesome remixes in the genre of Elevation Influx, then WOW...

If you'd have asked me this about 10 years ago I would have had a freakin heart attack, but now...I'm with Edge - GO FOR IT!!!!

Hello,

Well, I happen to like the Sad Bastards remix of SATS. It's dubby and like a better version of Miami (which wasn't dubby enough). On the other hand, I hate the Zooromancer remix of Salome. (Then why have I just bought the 12" on Ebay? Must be the B-side.) So everyone's his/her own.
Some remixes are good, some are great, some maybe even better than the original (Mysterious Ways & EBTTRT Perfecto mixes, Numb Soul Assassins Remix) and some aren't that much. Nevertheless, they're mostly interesting so I don't mind them as an addendum to new songs/live tracks.

C ya!

I just got MELON and I love it. I think that there is nothing wrong with remixing the whole lot. It?s interesting, it?s fresh, and you can actually bring those remixes to a party adn dance to U2 all night long.

I like some of the remixes, but the LNOE ones have to be the worst, and I happen to love that song. Grrr...
