What they did was WAY cool, and I'm not trying to be a party pooper here, but wouldn't it make more sense for them to play on Tuesday rather than monday? It's like seeing a commercial for a delicious new hamburger at a fast food joint, you love the looks of it, you really want it, you hop in your car, go down to the place and they say, oh sorry, that burger isn't out in the restaurants yet.

I would be pissed and probably not go back for that burger. In the same way, U2 were exciting people IN THE MOMENT, and probably a lot of those people ran straight to the local record store only to find no album available. I think it would have made more of an impact on opening day.

NO

Their timing is perfect!

Most people are going to hear about the concert on the nightly news. Only the diehard fans like us knew what was going on when it did. The majority of ppl are going to find out while they watch the news in their beds. They'll think to themselves, "I'm going to have to pick up this album tomorrow."
