U2 doing something very different

Wouldn''t it be great to see U2 doing something very different from what we they've ever done before?

Like touring with a great big orchestra? Or doing unplugged concerts? Would be great I think!

I think the boys cornered the market on "different" when they emerged from a 40 foot lemon. The Edge has said that they do an unplugged show in the middle of their concert every night (but if they wanted to do an unplugged show on MTV - more power to them). I might be getting a bit desparate, but all I want is
-Bono, Edge, Larry and Adam
-On one stage
-Performing (perferably new songs but its okay if they don't)
-me in attendance
If they want to do something diffrent - Bono swinging on a rope a la Molin (sp) Rouge singing dimonds are a girls best friend/some variation of Riverdance with Larry/An Adam striptease/Edge without headgear - it's all good

You're right! They already did a lot of different things!!!
I'll like the 'preferably new songs'part of your comment. That would be great. I hope in their new tour NO 'one', 'with or without you' and 'mysterous ways' ....i'll like it if they do more rare songs... otherwise it becomes too much a greatest hits show. what Springsteen did on his last tour was really really great

U2 needs to start touring backyards (or touring various parts of my backyard) playing almost exclusively pre-JT material.

I wouldn't mind roaming musicans following me around - perhaps the boys would be up to that - would have to get a car bigger than the silver beast (the escort) to fit all in comfortably - they can sing/play whatever their little hearts want to anything in their back catalog is fine with me - but personally I think that their best is really yet to come judging by electrical storm and the hands that built America - just my opinion

I'm not so sure I want U2 to do anything really different from what they've already done. I just want them to play the songs, forget all that other stuff. I guess that's probably why I like the Elevation Tour more than any other.

I know this probably sounds a little stupid, but I would just like to see them do whatever they want, whatever makes them happy. Granted, I wouldn't be too pleased if they did toured with an orchastra. Not sure if I would go for that. I just want to hear some new stuff.

I just want to add that, even though I have no clue or expectations, I think U2 will do something very different from anything they have ever done, or anything anyone has done. That is part of why I love them so much. I love their abilty to grow and change, it's gotten me interested in a lot of different stuff. I have a feeling this album will be no different in that respect.

I just want a new album. Then we can speculate what the tour will be. I hate to say it but U2 will never do anything as crazy as Zoo TV or Popmart. I think thats as different U2 will get from here on out.

I am happy with the way things are. All I ask is if the new album is betwen ALTCLB and Achtung Baby. And I think I will get that!

Club gigs would be awesome and more intimate if it were...UNPLUGGED lol but ticket demands and scalper prices would just be through the roof and there are just TOO many fans to satisfy.

I like the orchestra idea....when U2 opened the Special Olympics in Ireland they played 'One' with an orchestra. It was beautiful.

I dunno I like the idea of just the 4 of them on stage when they are touring strictly behind an album.

The orchestra fails to excite me.


I'll just take them playing like mad men at the top of their games.
