I just got home from a 4-night stay in Vegas (what a blast!), saw this news and was going to post it. I found this tid-bit while reading the Baton Rouge Daily Report:
"One of the world's biggest bands could be playing at JazzFest. Citing sources, Offbeat Magazine reports U2 has agreed to perform at the New Orleans music festival and travel plans for the group are finalized. JazzFest organizers don't reveal the band lineup until February. Offbeat says U2 guitarist The Edge recently toured New Orleans. The band would be a national draw for the music festival, an important event to showcase that New Orleans is still breathing."
This source doesn't usually print rumors unless they're reasonably sound... I am SO excited about this!! I live two hours from New Orleans... I can't imagine U2 playing at this festival, it would be a CRAZY event... with Edge's appearance in Chalmette and everything, this seems quite possible! We'll just have to wait and see.
