The Simpsons have several CDs out, and "The Garbage Man" is definitely on one of them.
However, U2's parts have been overdubbed, most likely due to legal nonsense on the part of the record companies.

Not exactly sure which song you mean Phes. The "Garbageman" is a parody of Sammy Davis Jr's "The Candyman" The episode is on a best of Simpson's video available at Woolworths.

They could not have appeared in better context for me.Homer, the problem of what to do with our effluent and U2.
Hub's band is called Los Garbos and the Trashmen.(way before that episode appeared)so
it was doubly cool.

Funniest part of that episode--Homer gets beat up by security guards, on the video monitors, while the band is playing "Pride (in the name of love)".
