I absolutely hated it in Electrical Storm, and I kind of dislike the song because of it

but it's used in moderation on HTDAAB, which works well, not overkilled like Electrical storm where it's basically the driving force of the melody

I just googled it. A xylophone has wooden bars and a glockenspiel has metal bars.

*trying to differentiate the instruments*
(by the way, I'm in band at my school, and we have 5 different glockenspiel-ish instruments)
wooden bars-marimba, or glocks
metal- there's a big xylophone that has this weird mechanism attached (like a whammy bar but for a xylophone) and a small one
(maybe 3ft across) that is so annoying because its so loud
plastic/resiny-stuff- another xylophone
then, we have this xylophone-esque thing, but the bars are not bars, they're CIRCLES!


I'm such a band geek . . .

well, if the band need someone to play the glockenspeil live because they are all busy with their regular instruments....then sign me up - I'll bang the heck out of that glockenspeil.
