Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but why not?
I know that the band got some press for embracing samples when Pop was released, but I've never known for sure how much of the album was actually sampled. I seem to recall that much of Do You Feel Loved was heavily sampled from somewhere, but I don't know where from, or even if that's true. Does anybody know specifics on the samples on that album?
Also, The Lightning Seeds version of You Showed Me has the same slide guitar thingy that's on Playboy Mansion. Anyone know if the Seeds were sampling U2, or both were sampling some previous source?
I also know that some techno band used the intro to Ultraviolet in a song several years ago. I can't remember the name of it, I'll have to check on my computer after work, but I do know that it was used in the trailer for the first Matrix movie.
So anyhow, I'd be interested to hear some comments on the topic.
