U2 Albums Tournament Round One: Part FOUR

First of all, there were some who thought my ranking of the albums by sales figures was a bit off, so I've posted another thread that deals with the album sales figures in this discussion area.

The fourth part of the first round is War vs. Zooropa. So, which will it be? The techno-ish album of peace, love and lemons? Or the rockin' record of war, death, and devastation?

Simply put, this is a 12 album NCAA style bracket tournament to find out which U2 Album is the best. Albums were given rankings in advance based on number of copies sold, with the one exception being ATYCLB, which was given a higher ranking due to its popularity among fans. The final info from this will be combined with other recent polls to get an overall ranking of these 12 albums.

Here's the bracket (by the way, I swapped Zooropa and The B-Sides because Zooropa actually reached the two million mark before The B-Sides):

(1) The Joshua Tree
vs. -------------------------------W=The Joshua Tree
(12) Pop

(6) The Unforgettable Fire
vs. -------------------------------W=The Unforgettable Fire
(7) Under A Blood Red Sky
---------------------------------

(2) Achtung Baby
vs. -------------------------------W=?
(11) Boy

(5) War
vs. -------------------------------W=?
(8) Zooropa

---------------------------------

(3) All That You Can't Leave Behind
vs.
(10) October

(4) Rattle and Hum
vs.
(9) The B-Sides (1980-1990)

I am in utter HORROR and SHOCK that people here would pick ZOOROPA over WAR. WAR is a classic album vastly superior to ZOOROPA. Most of the people who were U2 fans in 1993 like myself did not like ZOOROPA when it first came out. What explains the above results is obviously the large number of newbies and young fans that roam this forum. I'm sorry, but in my opinion, new and young fans have failed to appreciate the early years of U2.

Ah, but this is not always the case, my friend.

Take me, for example. I am only 20 years old. I've been a hardcore fan for over 5 years now. I was barely two years old when War came out, and yet I like it much, much, more more than Zooropa. I don't really know that the age thing has anything to do with it.

War. Sure, Zooropa is underrated and deserves more respect than it gets, but that still doesn't mean it is better than War.
