TOTAL BOXSCORES RESULTS?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Gross earnings for the Elevation Tour of North America in 2001 were $109.7 million for 80 shows in North America.
Another 33 shows were performed in Europe for a total of 113 shows in 2001 and a Gross Total of 145 million! Ticket prices were much cheaper in Europe than North America.

great! Thanks STING.
So... how many shos was it that they needed to paly before they passed the Rolling Stones record of the highest Grossing tour in the US?
Also.....if U2 do tour the US in Feb, would that help them to pass the record, or would it be considered a different tour?
Thanks again!
Bless ya.
WHYWHY

They needed about 8 more shows in answer to the first question.
In answer to second question, I'm not sure, but if the shows in February were included, then you'd have to include another Rolling Stones tour and the Eagle's reunion tour as tours that are ahead of the Elevation tour. So that would be 3 tours all of them grossing around 120 million that would be ahead. The Rolling Stone tour and Eagles tour not mentioned were cut in half by the end of the year. Each half appearing in diferent year Eagles(1994-1995) Rolling Stones(1997-1998).
Also, U2 does not have plans at the moment to tour the USA in February. The earliest I could see U2 back in the USA would be some time in 2003. U2 does plan a June/July/August tour of Europe.
