A lot of U2 fans rag on All Along The Watchtower and more often than not list it as a disastrous cover on U2's part just ignorantly basing it on what they heard on the RnH album...I know for a fact that if they heard this live version and the others during most of the Lovetown shows they would eat their words...Bonos vocals on that particular performance are incredible as is Edges guitar really letting rip..I also love the version on Freedom Of The Spirits Osaka Japan 89, Edge gives the solo a gorgeous Spanish feel

)

Top 5 performances I've seen in person:

5. Stay (Faraway, So Close!)?Elevation Tour, Albany, NY (Bono introduces this song by saying, "This is a song a lot of folks don't really know that well. That's because...a lot a folks didn't buy that record!" Hilarious. The song was great too.
4. The Opening of the Lemon, PopMart, Giants Stadium, 2nd show (Not really a performance, but it's the only thing I really remember from that show. For good reason too, because I was only a few rows back! Super.)
3. People Get Ready?Elevation Tour, Boston, 2nd show (As many well know, some lucky dude got to come up on stage and play guitar during this song. Great moment.)
2. Bullet The Blue Sky?Elevation Tour, Albany, NY (During his rap, Bono repeated, simply, "Who's that man, Mark Chapman?" over and over again, pointing his spotlight in a different direction each time he said it. He was screaming at top of his lungs by end of the song. Terrifying.)
1. Where The Streets Have No Name?Any U2 show I've ever been to and will ever go to. (Yeah, I'm cheating here, but it's so true

I don't have enough boots to sit here and pick out fave live performances, nor have I been to that many concerts. But I do have to say that hearing Popmart in Sao Paulo 1998, the second night, brings me to tears. Partly cause I'm Brazilian and I miss home so much but mostly cause Bono is talking to the audience at one point (in portuguese) and saying exactly how I feel about it ("your country is beautiful, your people are beautiful, your voices are beautiful, we'll never forget you"). Alright so I'm a little bias, sue me.

Other performances that have stuck is SNL Elevation, Bad from farmclub.com, and uhm WTSHNN from Miami opening night and the NBA halftime was cool too. I guess you can also add anything from Rattle and Hum where they were performing, except for ISHFWILF.
