The lastest issue of Spin magazine has a short section where Tom Morello briefly discusses his favorite albums/albums that influenced him. The Joshua Tree was included in the list. These were his comments on it:

"After I moved to Hollywood, I was mired in a series of degrading, soul-crushing menial jobs. For a while, I was a professional alphabetizer. Were it not for this album, I would've murdered someone."

The list was:

A. Kiss - Destroyer
B. Led Zeppelin - II
C. Sex Pistols - Nevermind the Bollocks
D. The Clash - London Calling (big suprise, eh?)
E. Devo - Freedom of Choice
F. Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Ozz
G. Run-D.M.C. - King of Rock
H. U2 - The Joshua Tree
I. Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking
J. Living Colour - Vivid
K. Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet
L. Bob Dylan - The Times They Are-A-Changin'

cool. He seemed like an interesting person when he gave the clash RnR HOF induction speech for the clash. It kicked ass.

Little known fact, he majored in history at Harvard.
