You're a piece of glass left out on the beach

Your love is like a secret that's been passed around

I disappeared in you; you disappeared from me
I gave you everything you ever wanted
Wasn't what you wanted

don't get me started on Bono's lyrics! it is my weakness!

but okay.. a few:

"She wears my love like a see-through dress"

"In the summer I can taste the salt of the sea"

"Under black belly of cloud in the rain."

"She will die and live again, tonight"

"See the stars shine like nails in the night"

"She feels like water in my hand/Freeway like a river cuts through this land"

"Sunrise like a nosebleed"

"Love is blindness/I don't want to see/Won't you wrap the night/Around me"

"You can sew it up but you still see the tear"

"Listen over the rhythm that's confusing you"

*makes herself stop*

I love those from Olive.

My favorite of all time:

I'll see you again when the stars fall from the sky and the moon has turned red...

No one has posted my favorite lyrics yet!

I took a drive in the dirty rain
to a place where the wind calls your name
Under the trees, the river laughing at you and me
Hallelujah
Heaven's white rose
The doors you open, I just can't close

*sigh*

I just love that.

some of my favorites:

And you hunger for the time
Time to heal, desire, time
And your earth moves beneath
Your own dream landscape

And I have no compass
And I have no map
And I have no reasons
No reasons to get back

Don't worry baby, it's gonna be alright
Uncertainty can be a guiding light

You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you

There is a silence that comes to a house
Where no one can sleep

I could list lyrics forever, but I'll try to stop now...

and also
"did I waste it? Not so much I couldn't taste it"

*sob*

and "They say they want the Kingdom but they don't want God in it" (that whole song ROCKS)

"like a siren she comes to me"

a few more

Something
Is about to give
I can feel it coming
I think I know what it means

Does love...light up your Christmas Tree

You're holding on to every little thing so tightly
'Til there's nothing left for you anyway

And some days have bouncers and won't let you in

wtf? you wanna kill me? anyway to much for my 'lil brain to handle! bastard!....anyway, i'll try.....
heres some:

" You broke the bonds and you
Loosed the chains
Carried the cross
Of my shame
Of my shame
You know I believed it
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for "

-
" Desert sky
Dream beneath a desert sky
The rivers run but soon run dry
We need new dreams tonight"

-
" If there's an order in all of this disorder
Is it like a tape recorder
Can we rewind it just once more "

-
"There's an insect in your ear
If you scratch it won't disappear
It's going to itch and burn and sting
You want to see what the scratching brings "

-
" Angry words won't stop the fight
Two wrongs won't make it right
A new heart is what I need
Oh God, make it bleed "

We're free to fly the crimson sky
The sun won't melt our wings tonight.....

And I agree, pain generally creates great art.

I like U2's opinion that sad music is too easy to write and happy music is the hardest. ATYCLB epitomises this thought.

Oh, so do I. I love that. I think that's mainly why I love ATYCLB. Man, I love this band!
I think you know that.

[color=royal blue]I know there are times when Fishy and I are cruisin around town, not blasting Moulin Rogue in Georgetown, that we're listening to U2 and I just scream out "OH BONO" in that Brady Bunch "Oh, Alice" voice and "I LOVE YOU" bc some of the lyrics are so neat.

The most clever one I think is

I hit an iceberg in my life
You know I'm still afloat
You lose your balance, lose your wife
In the queue for the lifeboat

You got to put the women and children first

I mean, WHO THINKS OF THAT?!? Oh, Bono

[color=royal blue]ALSO

lyrics that I like. whether they be clever or not:

I'd like to be around
In a spiral staircase
To the higher ground

And I, like a firework, explode
Roman candle lightning lights up the sky

Every artist is a cannibal, every poet is a thief
All kill their inspiration and sing about their grief

A fire zone
Where poets speak their heart
Then bleed for it

I can lose myself
You I can't live without

Looking for to fill that God shaped hole

You got to cry without weeping
Talk without speaking
Scream without raising your voice

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

Like faith needs a doubt
Like a freeway out
I need your love

Looking for a sound that's going to drown out the world

Heard a singer on the radio late last night
He says he's gonna kick the darkness
'til it bleeds daylight
I...I believe in love

You're looking for the one
But you know you're somewhere else instead
You want to be the song
Be the song that you hear in your head

But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

also like all of Playboy Mansion and Numb....and Zooropa and Zoo Station...

A vampire or a victim
It depends on who's around

The water is warm till you discover how deep

You're dangerous 'cause you're honest

whatever's in my sig.......
