The Sound of U2 Vinyl to cd (anyone notice a big difference?)

I put on my promo vinyl copy of UF today and what I get is just a more atmospheric sound as opposed to cds which sound kinda artificial?

Anyone else get that kinda reaction?

It's the ol' Analong vs. Digital argument about "warmness" and such. You hear it a lot in the recording industry as well. Some people believe that on analog you are getting a fuller, richer sound because of sound frequencies that are beyond our range of hearing, but they affect the ones we can hear. Something like that.

I like to put my vinyl on sometimes.

Yes, I notice the difference mainly in UF and October, because they are so "vast and expansive" sounding.

I have everything up until R&H on vinyl. UF does definitely sound better on it.

I still have all my old vinyls. I can't part with them.

I have everything up until Zooropa, (minus Achtung Baby ) and it all sounds so much better on vinyl.
