Let's just repeat ourselves and copy posts.

Beautiful poetic lyrics
Beautiful epic sounding music
Beautiful vocal performence

The greatest song that exists and will ever exist for me, in my lifetime.

HERE'S TO HEARTLAND!!

Some of Bono's best lyrics, and that singing is incredible. The music is just so beautiful, creating mental landscapes with sound. Oh, it is a masterpiece, an overlooked gem.

For me, only a few songs are better:

1. Streets
2. Bad
3. UF
4. One Tree Hill
5. COBL
6. Heartland

And some days I want to move Heartland further up. It is beyond sensational.

"Heartland" is like finding a dollar in your jeans in the morning.

But those other songs are so bloody sensational too! Maybe I'll just make them all equal first.

I'm listening to Heartland loud right now and this song has to be one of the best pieces of music I have ever heard in my life. WHY was this gem not on the Best Of? It's abso-bloody-lutely incredible!

I think it's more like finding a piece of gold wrapped in a hundred dollar note.

The Best of 1980-1990 should have had a third disc with Heartland 15 times. And a fourth disc with Hawkmoon 1 through Hawkmoon 268.

More like finding six tons of gold wrapped in a sea of cash.

2 pages already?!!

If it was up to me, it would be 37 pages already, with 200 people posting of their love for this song. But it's not up to me, I guess.

actually listed it #1 in my profile... hard to pick the best song by them, though...

kind of like trying to pin down the Beatles best...

Or discovering that someone just gave you all the gold in the world.

The Best Of 1980-1990 should have been a massive collection of every Lovetown show, then a disc of Heartland, then all 269 Hawkmoons, then every live performance of 11 O'clock Tick Tock, and then a remastered disc of The Unforgettable Fire, with live performances as bonus tracks.
