Hey all,

I watch the Boston DVD all the time and I've noticed that at the end of Gone that Edge throws his guitar to the ground and kicks it. He seems genuinely upset. Any ideas why this is?

Thanks!

Thanks Dorian! That sounds interesting I'll have to listen to it again. And good website too!

BTW, I noticed you're from Nova Scotia. Everything alright after Hurricane Juan(was it last week, I don't know exactly)

You'll notice that version of Gone sounds pretty good.. the reason being that the audio performance (until he kicks the guitar) is from the second night, while the video footage of him kicking is from the first night.

and Im doing fine, thanks for asking! :)

I was at that first show when he threw his guitar. It surprised the hell out of me......I read somewhere that he said the band butchered the song that night and he was just pissed off about that. Not seen the DVD, Edge went over to yell at Larry after he kicked the guitar aside....

I've only found it a few times but somewhere on the dvd you can actually see Edge yelling at Larry. I think it's on the 2nd CD....damn now I have to find it to back myself up. I'll pop in the dvd and see if I can find it.

I always crack up when I watch Gone on the Boston DVD. Since the Edge broke his guitar the first night, he is playing 2 different guitars during the song.

Then I crack up when I hear Bono's lyrics on the New Year's Eve 12/31/89 bootleg in Desire...

A red guitar, some times vanilla...

I wondered about that. It did sound like the guitar was going out of tune towards the end. I must say, though, it's a little disquieting to see the normally mild-mannered, easygoing Edge throw a fit like that. :uhoh: :help:

if i remember correctly, it was the out of tune guitar. hmm...found it interesting that they spliced the kick with the night after [before?] and the better performance.
