Modernista co-founder Gary Koepke recently celebrated one of his advertising agency's largest wins in its six-year history: the consolidation of the estimated $140 million General Motors' Cadillac advertising business in June. The ad shop's résumé prior to that win includes ad campaigns for such brands as the Gap Inc., Anheuser-Busch Inc. and General Motors Corp.'s Hummer. Koepke has even directed a music video for David Bowie. And that's all since he co-founded Modernista in 2000, the Boston-based shop that has helped set the creative standard in the city since its launch. Koepke, who once shot a Hummer commercial starring Regis Philbin, touched on a variety of subjects with Boston Business Journal reporter Lisa van der Pool.
