Yep I transcribed the lyrics a while ago for City of Blinding Lights, I’ll do All because of You in a second. Here they are, there are some holes and corrections are more than welcome….

I can't tell from the mp3s going around, cos it's not too clear, but a while ago there were some pics of Bono in Blackbook magazine with his hand writing around them. Some of the words he wrote there were:

Neon heart, day glo eyes
A city lit by fireflies
They use advertising in the skies
For people like us...

I'm guessing that's what the actual lyrics are for that part of COBL...? :shrug:

I had these lyrics down from the original windy version of ABOY posted months ago

also.. Bono says "Intellectual Tortoise" in the second verse :)

one more thing.. he says "Everything was lovely BUT your beautiful face"

Honestly, I just can't hear that. I keep hearing 'leave' and 'ground' in there, but when I listen closely, I can't pick anything out enough to be sure.
 
There have been so many articles and reviews lately that I can't remember which one this was in, but in one of them Edge says that the lyrics on the new album are their most direct ever, without metaphors. I have to ask, What's he talking about?
All of the lyrics we've heard, including Veritgo, seem like classic metaphorical Bono to me (which I love). I wish I could find the exact quote. Anyone?

I wasn't too sure about "Nothing else at the place" but that was what I heard in BOTH versions that were recorded of ABOY... "out of place" makes more sense, but i'm pretty sure its not that

"Reach me with your voice, me" might be "Reap me with with your {something else}" or "Reach me with your {something else}" where something else *might* be "bullets, me" instead

anyone want to give the lyrics a shot after hearing the new bootlegs? i would but i'm a bit busy at the moment.. i've noticed he says "saw your hand cover the moon" instead of "saw your hand cover the world", and now its sounds like that in the windy version as well

also he says "everything was ugly but your beautiful face" not lovely

For some reason when I hear the beginning of COBL on Edge's guitar part, I think of the 80's song "It's ONLY PARADISE. ONLY PARADISE, It's ONLY PARADISE, ONLY PARADISE." Is there a such song? COBL is cool though.
 
I can not think of the name of the 80's song with the female singer, "it's only paradise."???
