I remember Bono singing this song during Sinatra's birthday show, right?
Can someone tell me more about Two shots of happy, one shot of sad?
I have an incredible memory of the song :hyper: though it's a little blurry, it goes way back!
Where can I catch it? Tell me the story of it. Everything.
What do you think about it? Come on, fans, enlighten me.

Yes Bono sang it on Sinatra's birthday - he and Edge wrote the song with him in mind.

I think it was a B-side on one of Pop singles, or if you can get Bono solo vol.1 bootleg, it's there too.

Bono sang this song for Frank Sinatra's 80th Birthday Party ... The program was called "Sinatra: 80 Years ... My Way." When Bono was announced, he was shown via satellite from a London studio. Bono introduced "Two Shots Of Happy, One Shot Of Sad" to Frank Sinatra, saying how sorry he was that he couldn't be there in person because the band wouldn't let him off work, so he was gonna send him this song anyway. Bono also told the audience "it's a song that was pitched to Frank about 80 times" and "since he now had Frank's undivided attention, Frank could give the song another listen" ...

This song is on the single version CD "If God Will Send His Angels" ... along with "Slow Dancing and "Sunday Bloody Sunday (Live from Sarajevo) ...

Really? Wow! I'd love to see that. I really love that song.

Ditto that.

If it's possible to wear out a CD, my "If God Will Send His Angels" single is going to be in trouble. Bono and Craig Armstrong... Love this song!

P.S. - If you have the volume turned up loud enough, you can hear Bono say "Happy Birthday Frank" at the end of the track.

Two shots of happy, one shot of sad
You think I'm no good, well I know I've been bad
Took you to a place, now you can't get back
Two shots of happy, one shot of sad

Walked together down a dead end street
We were mixing the bitter with the sweet
Don't try to figure out what we might of had
Just two shots of happy, one shot of sad

I'm just a singer, some say a sinner
Rolling the dice, not always a winner
You say I've been lucky, well hell I've made my own
Not part of the crowd, but not feeling alone

Under pressure, but not bent out of shape
Surrounded, we always found an escape
Drove me to drink, but hey that's not all bad
Two shots of happy, one shot of sad

Guess I've been greedy, all of my life
Greedy with my children, my lovers, my wife
Greedy for the good things as well as the bad
Two shots of happy, one shot of sad

Maybe it's just talk, saloon singing
The chairs are all stacked, the swinging's stopped swinging
You say I hurt you, you put the finger on yourself
Then after you did it, you came crying for my help

Two shots of happy, one shot of sad
I'm not complaining, baby I'm glad
You call it a compromise, well what's that
Two shots of happy, one shot of sad

Two shots of happy, one shot of sad

yeah, like someone just typed with their eyes closed. or they coughed whilst saying it because they couldn't remember the word, like "klatuu narara :coughs: nihuhfo" (anyone who knows that reference gets a cookie).
