WOW i just heard U2's street mission. I thinks its the closest they ever came to heavy metal! Imagine how much this song would rock if they redid it!!! Its fll of potential, too bad its only a demo. If you haven't heard it i suggest listening to it its great if you like heavier songs!

does anyone know if this was a u2 song or a cover?? the guitars are insane!! so much energy!!!

It's a U2 original.

Although U2 did covers in their earliest incarnations, the earliest recording of a cover that I know of dates from 1 February 1981, All Along The Watchtower at a London gig.

The various early demos (some officially released, most not) are U2 originals.

It's an original song. It was one of their first recordings and is fairly heavily bootlegged. It was only released officially in 2004 as part of their Digital Bullshit, I mean, Digital Boxset.

(Edit: I had this open in a tab for a while, so I didn't notice Axver totally beat me to the punch.)
