In my extensive reseach I have concluded that some U2 albums need the "out loud" treatment, while others can not bear it.

My list:

Must be outloud: How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Boy

Has to be through a Headphone: Unforgetable Fire. Zooropa.

Its just the way it has to be for me. Cant change it up.

Yours?

I hate listening to anything without headphones. I think the last time I listened to ANY album on speakers was back in July, and that's because I was in a car.

while travelling on the tube in rush hour. It's just bizarre, like looking at the world through someone elses eyes.

Either really loud on speakers, or on headphones. Otherwise you miss too much.

U2 in cars isn't too good unless you have excellent speakers, otherwise I kinda lose the bass.

headphones have this personal feeling to them...I love it... but if i listen to them in speakers it must be blasting LOUD!!

It's a sonic experience...It's cool how it shifts from one ear to the next. Although, I have to be in the right mood to appreciate this song. Sometimes I find it frustratingly slow and plodding...:eyebrow:

In terms of other stuff, live U2 on a good home stereo is incredible...if you're allowed to freewheel and perform necessary theatrics and air guitar...
