So Songs of Surrender should be announced on Tuesday (November 1), and it seems fairly likely it'll release on the 18th.

Bono is appearing on The Late Show with Colbert on Thursday, and this will include a musical performance as well as an interview.

What do we reckon the odds are of us getting a lead single next week ahead of the album release?
 
If the album is coming on November 18, I’d expect it to be announced around the book launch and the single dropped as well. Interesting though because the performance will be the book tour version, but the album is u2.

It’s funny, when I first started getting into Taylor a couple years ago I was searching to see if there were any old news items about her interacting with the band. There wasn’t much but they did send her some kind of welcoming gift when she played Dublin back in the 2010s that she seemed very appreciative of.

If this talk show meeting leads to a U2 collab with Jack Antonoff or Aaron Dessner, I’m all for it. Or a future musical collab between Taylor herself and the band. :pray:
 
Fine with Dessner as a producer but can they just write their own goddamn songs?

If U2 ever actually plans to finish Songs of Ascent, that seems like the perfect record for Dessner’s touch. I would be all for that.
 
For anyone interested, tix for Bono in Toronto have been steadily dropping. Grabbed a pair of balcony seats for 118 each.
 
Right at the end of the Graham Norton show Bono again says that Songs of Ascent is finished, but they are not releasing it and instead starting again to write an unreasonable rock record, jeez.
