Here's a list of songs from all of U2's albums that they have never played in front of people...well a large group of paying folk $$$. (I'm also including snippets is this as well)

BOY: Every song has been played live {100%)

OCTOBER: Is That All?, Stranger in a Strange Land {83%}

WAR: Drowning Man, Red Light, The Refugee {70%)

UNFORGETTABLE FIRE: Promenade, Elvis Presley in America, 4th of July {70%}

JOSHUA TREE: Red Hill Mining Town {91%}

RATTLE & HUM: Heartland {89%}

ACHTUNG BABY: Acrobat {92%}

ZOOROPA: Some Days are Better..., The Wanderer {80%}

POP: All have been played live {100%}

ALL THAT YOU CAN'T LEAVE BEHIND: Grace (Not including the end of the show over the PA system of course) {91%}

So overall U2 has played 82 out of the 96 Studio album songs recorded in front of an audience. Thats 85% of their Studio album songs. These are only studio album songs. I did not take into account HMTMKMKM or Miss Sarajevo, A Celebration, etc...

85% of their songs have been played live
Mmmmm...Theres a nice little tid bit for the Setlist Police

Never Red Hill?Are you kidding? That song is pure perfection...

Yeah. Supposedly it was too high for Bono or something

Red Hill Mining Town was played at soundcheck in Murfreesboro, TN in 1987.

As far as I know, no recording of this soundcheck exists....unfortunately.

The rumor about Red Hill being too high for Bono to sing is the most common reason given. Although Red Hill was originally supposed to be the first single off the JT, singing it every show (as they would want to do with a featured single) would be pretty tough on Bono's voice. So they went with With Or Without You (and history was made).

After listening to Bono's voice this tour....I bet they could slightly adjust the register of the song and he could sing it.

We can only hope that it will see it's live debut someday....

When did they play If God Would Send His Angels???

And why wasnt I there?

God has got his phone off the hook, babe...Would he even pick up if he could?

they played IGWSHA for much of the first leg of the Popmart tour. I heard it at Columbus. It wasn't the full version, but 2 stanza's and the chorus I believe.

And I feel like I'm slowly slowly slowly slipping under.

And I feel like I'm holding onto nothing.

ADAM (talking about Elevation):
"I like it, it's very hard to play live...(starts smiling) I don't understand what it's about, it's good."

u2 should play a club show where they only play the songs they've never played and only invite us, because we really want to hear them. yeah...

What do you do when female fans get too agressive?
Adam: We let Larry deal with those things.

If you count Playboy Mansion then you should also count Drowning Man and Acrobat.

Also, 4th of July was played on the PA as the band came out during the UF tour.

Playboy Mansion was a snippet at the end of Streets on the POMART Tour.

it was soundchecked a couple times.....man, i wish they would have played that somewhere along the line. Such a great song!
