Song Wars!: Discotheque vs. Elevation

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

oh hell it's 50/50 for me!
I guess Discotheque rocks a little more.
I was so excited when I heard the 30s clip on the net of Elevation back in June 2000. I still rate Elevation as a great song!
I simply don't understand why everyone else hates it....must be the crap remixes they released.

?Catchy? / pop-rock / high energy / playful / trivial / lighthearted / shallow / ?fun? lyrics and music. A kind of U2 does Bon Jovi / Aerosmith / Def Leppard / Van Halen.

Ummm no. Those bands all rock and would die before they'd humiliate themselves singing those lyrics dressed as the Village People. If you're looking for shallow and lighthearted, it's more like U2 do the Beastie Boys or Right Said Fred, perhaps Aqua, or The Spice Girls!

Even tough Discotheque's riff is better I think I like Elevation a little more, especially that "solo" part in the end, it's kinda trashy, I like that!
