----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are some remixes to this song so please feel free to talk about those.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Give me one more chance
And you'll be satisfied
Give me two more chances
You won't be denied

Well my heart is where it's always been
My head is somewhere in between
Give me one more chance
Let me be your lover tonight

(Check it out)

You're the real thing
Yeah the real thing
You're the real thing
Even better than the real thing
Child...

Give me one last chance
And I'm gonna make you sing
Give me half a chance
To ride on the waves that you bring

You're honey child to a swarm of bees
Gonna blow right through you like a breeze
Give me one last dance
We'll slide down the surface of things

You're the real thing
Yeah the real thing
You're the real thing
Even better than the real thing
Child...

We're free to fly the crimson sky
The sun won't melt our wings tonight

Oh now...here she comes

Take me higher
Take me higher
You take me higher
You take me higher

You're the real thing
Yeah the real thing
You're the real thing
Even better than the real thing
Even better than the real thing
Even better than the real thing

I prefer the album version, but I can see where you're coming from.

I love this song. What a solo! I’ve been listening to it a lot lately. Groovy is the first word I think of when I remember of this song. Everything is great on it, Bono's melody is as groovy as Adam's bass, so is Edge's guitar: the intro, the awesome solo and what he plays during the verses is great. And Larry is a hard hitter so that a great song for him.

I'm speaking highly of this song now cause I stayed a long time disliking it a bit after liking it. It can be a little annoying but I recently rediscover it thanks to the great Perfecto remix. I love that one too with the slide solo at the beginning and the female voices.

Yeah, the instrumental Salome version was an interesting listen this summer. Album version, Perfecto version, whatever. Good song.

"Take me higher!'

Yeh one of all time faves.....love the instrumental, love the video, love the lyrics, love the concept of EVEN BETTER THAN THE REAL THING.

Love the fact that u2 knocked back Coca Cola's effort to use EVEN BETTER THAN THE REAL THING as their slogan...

oh, yeah...this is one of my fav U2 songs.
The "crimson sky & waves " lines are very sexy, as is the fabulous music/atmospherics, bono's singing, as is the song in general. And, ohoh-that video! A fest in any medium!

You must be smoking the crack pipe again. I have never known anyone, U2 fan or not, to dislike this song.

This was the song that helped me love U2. I just thought the video was the coolest thing I had ever seen.

EBTTRT is the song that got me into U2 so in a way its always gonna be my favorite. '91--ten (almost 11) years old riding in my cousins truck with it blaring--he made me listen the day it came out--hooked for life and forever grateful to my cousin who I never see anymore.

I really do enjoy this song. I don't think it deserved a place on the US version of the Best of over The Fly, but that's a different discussion. This is such a vibrant and vital song. It's got swagger, style, and seriously snarky sexiness. This coming from a completely heterosexual male listener. This song is . The video is also one of my favorites, and would have worked well for Vertigo.

Guitar intro: bum bum waaaa waaaaaaaa
