Angel, everything's gonna be alright
Angel, everything's gonna work out tonight
Thirteen years old, sweet as rose
Every petal of her wafer thin
Love will make you mine
Creep up from behind
Get you jumping out of your skin
Angel...it's sink or swim

Deep in the heart
Deep in the heart of this place
Deep in the heart
Deep in the heart of this place

Door is closed behind me now
The Window is sealed to shut out the light
Green as the leaves
And the cure of the meadow stain
Do your work, it'll work out right

Deep in the heart
Deep in the heart of this place
Deep in the heart
Deep in the heart of this place

The scent of cedar, I can still see her
You can't return to the place you never left
Angel, we'll make it work out tonight
Angel, I wanna be home tonight

Door is closed behind me now
The window is sealed, they shut out the light
Green as the leaves
And the cure of the meadow stain
I do my work, and you'll work out right

Deep in the heart
Deep in the heart of this place
Deep in the heart
Deep in the heart of this place...

Not one of the strongest Joshua Tree era B-sides, IMO. Still, it is a pity that it wasn't on the Best Of 1980-1990 & B-Sides disc, if only for completeness reasons.

I've always loved the line "and the cure of the meadow stain".

also love the bass line on it.

I like this song , in fact, I love this song.

Why was not included in the best of b-sides disc ?

I never understood that....

Dark atmosphere, cool guitar, The spanish eyes perfect companion, as was released in ISHFWILF single.

Actually, those lyrics aren't quite accurate. Here's a couple of changes (I know, I know, I'm picky...)

I know...it's sink or swim

....

The scent of cedar, I can still see her
You can't return to the place you never left
I know, we'll make it work out tonight
Angel, I won't be home tonight

There's a couple of more I can't remember off the top of my head right now, but ah well....

The best song left off the B-Sides CD, this one has always been one of my favorites... I love the rhythm in this one, the drums and bass just groove you deep down... sends a vibration thrilling from heart to crotch and back again... who really cares what the words are, this one could have been an instrumental and had the same title! Then again, I always like the slow sultry ones...
