From Greenplastic:

"The National Association of Record Manufacturers and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have fought back with a celebration of the greatest albums ever. The two organizations yesterday released "The Definitive 200," a list of 200 albums they think every popular-music fan should own.

This list is not based on album sales, amount of awards it won, or anything like that. This is simply the musical tastes of the NARM and R&R Hall of Fame."

U2 did quite well. The Joshua Tree at #5, Achtung Baby at #45, ATYCLB at #197.

In comparison, Radiohead only managed to get OK Computer on the list, at #111.

and out of nowhere you mention Radiohead

anyway good for u2..but Achtung should be higher :tsk:...in fact it should be in the top 10:tsk:

Nirvana's in the top 10, so this list immediately loses all credibility.

Damn, I'm tired of seeing Dark Side on The Moon at the Top of any album list.

I'm sure if you look at the bottom 200 you might see one of your albums there.

Actually, A Rush of Blood to the Head is at #65. Not bad at all.

It's a great album for sure, but not 65 by any standards. It's above The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, probably the first landmark glam rock album.

X&Y is behind Blizzard Man's eponymous debut at 6 as the Definitive 200 Worst Albums Ever! LOL!

A list that says that Shania Twain, Eminem and Outkast > Beatles Revolver is complete BS.

any list with Avril Lavigne in it pretty much loses all credibility

there are some fantastic albums on this list, but overall it's not too great

the Titantic soundtrack...Kenny G... CREED...50 Cent... Kid Rock...Footloose soundtrack...is this really the 200 best albums list? :lmao:

50 Cent is on the list? you've got to be fucking kidding me. And not even in the high 100s. He's number #57 (Get Rich or Die Tryin) for fuck's sake!
