So, the 200 greatest albums ever

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
radiohead has made at least two albums that are better than the joshua tree.

OK Computer and Kid A make him correct.

But then again I think even U2 has at least two albums of their own better than the Joshua Tree. Hell, probably three.

AB/Pop/UF > JT

It's science.

AB/Pop/UF > JT

It's science.

:tsk: You would have been closer had you said Zooropa/Pop/War > JT, but whatever.

#3 Michael Jackson "Thriller" - sure the album is one of the best pop album of the 1980's but... #3?

#10 Nirvana "Nevermind" - what a surprise!!!:giggle:

#11 Pearl Jam "Ten" - not sure if this should be top 20

#21 Shania Twain "Come On Over" - :lmao:

#29 Outkast "Speakerboxx-Love Below" - Why Top30?

#32 Guns'n'Roses "Appetite For Destruction" - is this better than AB, AROBTH or... the White Album and Revolver?

#37 Grease Soundtrack - I hate this movie, I hate those songs!...

#45 U2 "Achtung Baby" - they "equal" "Slippery When Wet" to AB and to... Whitney Houston homonymous album? WTF!

...I give up to chest the complete list, no worthy...

if Aquemini had been in that place it may have been more credible

but clearly this is a terrible list

and I don't know if Radiohead have any albums better than JT. Kid A and The Bends maybe...but I have to be in a certain mood to listen to Radiohead. U2 I enjoy anytime

oh, and Pop and AB > JT

any list with Avril Lavigne in it pretty much loses all credibility

I disagree, but I still believe that it is a dodgy list.

Ok Computer has to be top 25, there is no The Queen Is Dead, and the most beautiful album ever written, The Stone Roses, doesn't feature.

It's quite poor, but good to see Avril on there...

IT'S SEW COMPLICATEDDDDD

look at her, so hip with that swingin' necktie.

Kenny G? I don't fucking think so... :tsk:

Yeah, I probably did. Half of that list made my eyes hurt to behold.

Oh, and I forgot to put in that great picture that puts the whole debacle in context.

Damn, I'm tired of seeing Dark Side on The Moon at the Top of any album list.

Wait, you criticise DSoTM but you're a Coldplay fan?

Good day sir. You lose.

Pearl Jam "ten" top "ten dick
Outkast beacause its a great record... dick
Appetite... yeah one on the greatest rtock records ever made.

It seems at this web site if Radiohead, U2 or The Beatles didn't make it its no good. Fuking tools:huh:

we only appreciate deep music here

preferably so deep that not even we understand what it's about

From Greenplastic:

"The National Association of Record Manufacturers and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have fought back with a celebration of the greatest albums ever. The two organizations yesterday released "The Definitive 200," a list of 200 albums they think every popular-music fan should own.

This list is not based on album sales, amount of awards it won, or anything like that. This is simply the musical tastes of the NARM and R&R Hall of Fame."

U2 did quite well. The Joshua Tree at #5, Achtung Baby at #45, ATYCLB at #197.

In comparison, Radiohead only managed to get OK Computer on the list, at #111.

Full list here: http://www.definitive200.com/200_list.php

JT is where it should be, AB is too low but is rightfully behind JT, Radiohead is too high

much of the list is BS though, as others have pointed out.

Sorry... Iwas a little drunk last night

Radiohead is over rated as a band in general they are a good band, even a great band but certainly not one of the best bands of all time. U2 on the other hand is one of the greatest bands of all time, Radiohead arent in that class as of yet, they will need at least another 3 good albums to make that list. Radiohead is in the end just a cheap mans Pink Floyd, and yes you can hear where they were influenced by Pink Floyd very easy.

I will say the same for Coldplay while they are a very good band they are not in the top bands of all time not by a long shot at least not at this point.

U2 > Radiohead > Coldplay

Good to see Alanis up pretty high, Jagged Little Pill is timeless....

And Toni Braxton is the best at what she does...

:| Pink Floyd never experimented with their sound to the extent that Radiohead did. Plus, they really only sounded like PF for OK Computer, and even that notion could be easily called rubbish and I would understand it.

U2 > Radiohead > Coldplay

And now you're comparing Coldplay to Radiohead?

:crack: I'm getting too old for this.

I would say Pink Floyd experimented a lot more with their sound than Radiohead...
I mean listen to "Atom Heart Mother"....
Pink Floyd followed no rules..
..but thats for another discussion...

Yeah, how can the sex pistols get 109, should be at least 19! One of the best albums of all time.
Plus, Nirvana deserve to be in there, ok it should be for In Utero instead of Nevermind.

What a great big steaming pile of shite, any best of all time list that only has 1 BOWIE LP on it, as low as that instantly loses credibilty, to have Whats The Story instead of Definitely Maybe, no Stone Roses, Smiths, or Morrissey, Jesus, who compiled this list, a bunch of ageing fucking hippies, total BOLLIX, and thats another thing, Nevermind The Bollocks, nearly 100 places below shania twain, laughable.

don't want to SEE/HEAR of those lists.
anytime i see pet sounds from beach boys and more than 3 beatles albums in first 50 i go nuts
