I almost cry when I hear "IIIIIIII..... would catch you/I'd catch you if I heard your call"

Incredible song. Why don't songs like these become popular here?

Yes! something like that! To me the music sounds a little too artificial for the poignancy of the song, and a real drummer would probably help things. I would love it if U2 would either play this song live, or if Bono would sing some of the lyrics in Bad or something like that.

I am a big fan of Hutchence as well. When I die, I'm going to go to wherever spirits go and find Hutchence. Then I'm going to smack him upside the head! Whether he committed suicide or it was an accidental death, either way it should not have happened. I haven't been as saddened by the death of a celebrity since John Lennon's murder.

The song is gorgeous and I'm glad Bono was involved.

Wonderful idea SkeeK boy. Now all we need is to make the band knowing about that

Same here Dr Who
Don't think I've ever been as affected by a celebrity death as that one.
It may sound a little wacky but I went to his memorial and laid a stone on top of it. I dont know why but I just felt I had to do something like that.
I think something went wrong too.
I dont think I'll ever forget teh moment I found out about his passing. I was driving home from work on a Saturday afternoon and it came over the radio that a prominent International musician had been found dead in a hotel in the city.
I of course didn't think it was even an Australian. About 15 mins later they announced Micahel had commiteed suicide and I nearly drove off the road. I had to pull over.
I cried for days about it and I could never understand why I was so affected by the death of someone I didnt know personally.
Just proves how much an artist/musician can influence and grow into our lives.

I'm sorry but I was so excited I needed to post this.

I went to the supermarket today and, get this, they were playing Slide Away over the PA I was so excited I felt like jumping up and down but controlled myself and instead had goosebumps and trembled.

Anyways I thought it worthy of mention considering I have never even heard it on the radio.

Hello follower, I seem to strike the time of day when Elvis is doing his laundry. I wrote a heartfelt reply earlier but it's gone. Better that I suppose than appearing twice as I feared it may have.
I like "Slide Away"(and "She Flirts For England") and I am so glad Bono penned and released SIAMYCGOO.
I still feel his death was an acciden. I can't believe he would purposefully leave his beautiful girls.
