Hmm, strange.
The Fly has disappeared from the setlist as posted at U2Tours and has been replaced by Pride. I wonder which one they played.

C ya!

I made a point to make sure and see Boston 3 and 4...I should have done the same for the 2 Slane gigs. All I can think about right now is how much I wish I could have been there tonight.

Wow- fireworks! That sounds like an absolutely amazing experience- I wish I could've been there.

It would make sense for them to play the Thin Lizzy version of "Dancing in the Moonlight" since the last time they played at Slane they opened for Thin Lizzy.

um, "Dancing in the Moonlight" is a song written by Thin Lizzy

Dancing In The Moonlight (It's Caught Me In Its Spotlight) (Philip Lynott)

When I passed you in the doorway
You took me with a glance
I should have took that last bus home
But I asked you for a dance

Now we go steady to the pictures
I always get chocolate stains on my pants
My father he's going crazy
Say's I'm living in a trance

But I'm dancing in the moonlight
It's caught me in its spotlight
It's alright, alright
Dancing in the moonlight
On the long hot summer night

It's three o'clock in the morning
And I'm on the streets again
I disobeyed another warning
I should have been in by ten

Now I won't get out until Sunday
I'll have to say I stayed with friends
But it's a habit worth forming
If it means to justify the end

Thank You Wanderer for the lyrics...I can picture a young Bono singing it to his Dad.

The reason I said the "Thin Lizzy version" was because some people were saying the song was originally by Van Morrison. But thanks for clearing that up and for posting the lyrics!

And Van Morrison had a hit with it in the 70's.

But as others pointed out, it's been covered NUMEROUS times - and was a hit last year for Toploader.

No, The Wanderer is right! Van Morrison did NOT cover "Dancing in the Moonlight," his song was "Moondance," on the album of the same name. He didn't even play it live in the 70s. "Dancing In The Moonlight" is a Thin Lizzy tune. I challenge any one to locate a reference to Van the Man covering "Dancing in the Moonlight."
