Was it dubbed to tape? Burned on CD? Mixed on your iPod? What songs grabbed you as you bought your first U2 album, then worked your way backwards through their catalog?

Mine was on tape, starting with The Joshua Tree:

1. Streets
2. I Will Follow
3. New Years Day
4. A Sort Of Homecoming
5. Bad (Live from Wide Awake In America)
6. With or Without You
7. In God's Country
8. Gloria
9. I Threw A Brick Through A Window
10. The Refugee
11. The Electric Co
12. Wire
13. Running To Stand Still
14. 40 (Live from Under A Blood Red Sky)

Being young(er) and making mix tapes = definitely good times. I never made a mix...my best friend got me the Best Of 90-00 for Christmas and I just baught all their cds after that, staring w/ Bomb. Now that I have everything on my mp3 player, I just shuffle all the U2 songs, including bootlegs and rare stuff. Too lazy/choosey to actually make a favorites playlist.

if i remember correctly my first 'Best Of' mix was a two CD affair of what I thought was a 'real' Best of 1980-1990 in chronological order since there was too much to consider in terms of running order and 'flow'.

I shall look for the tracklisting and paste it here in the meantime but I think I was fair.

wow. no with or without you, joey 788?

Surprisingly, no. I think I had just really discovered 90s U2 and I couldn't fit it in. How I could have left out WOWY and put in the album version of Miami is beyond me.
