5. Mediocre song, pretty dull on repeated listens. The Refugee is a little better than it.

Stunned Drowning Man out-polled Gloria. I love Drowning Man and all, but Gloria's better.

two. yep. this is easily my least favourite off war.

edit: i forgot to add it has one of the dodgiest u2 lyrics ever. yeah a mole/diggin' in a hole sucks horseshit, but what about this song? i can't stop the dance/maybe this is my last chance. it sounds like a line even tiffany would refuse to sing.

The decent bassline (which I never noticed until those bloody awful remixes assaulted my ears) almost makes up for the rest of it, and that baffling music video.

3 for me.

7. I like it a lot mainly for that cool guitar sound of Edge's. Always struck me as odd that he was never able to go anywhere close to reproducing that sound live. He could today I guess with his over the top effects rig but in the 80's it was beyond him.

Funny film clip too. Seems to have noting whatsoever to do with the song. Entirely random.

 ...but it's good to have some of the underdogs surpass some of the traditional big guns.

6 for 2 Heartz. Nice tune, but not all that exhillarating. Great video.

In principle, this is why U2 should never listen to the people on this site. Absolutely ridiculous that this comes out over many many other songs below it.

 Yah think?

i believe that it's better than gloria, that's no shit. but there's probably an element of extra appreciation from some quarters who wouldn't be rating it as highly if they hadn't heard of it being rehearsed.

Maybe Bono's best lyric about being in love with a girl. A topic he doesn't broach all that often. Great song. It'll get an 8 from me.

I really don't think the rehearsals of Drowning Man are responsible for much of a boost in its score. It has always been very popular here.
