Rate the Song Series: "40"

You all know the drill, vote based on studio or live or a mix whatever and the poll will be open for one day

And ignore what the poll says and rate "40"

I gave it an "8" because, I love the simplicity of the music. Soothing guitar and soulful vocals.

7 because it was a great live staple in the 80's.

8. Unspeakably gorgeous, lovely way to end the album, but always just slightly underwhelming.

6. Studio only, it'd be about a 3; live only, it'd be about a 9. I let it average out.

"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."

9. What a stunningly beautiful, low key and subtle way to end an album entitled War.

Again, it's lacking something spesh, like the whole of side 2.

Roll on Unforgettable Fire round. The burning question is whether BAD can snare the yellow jersey from NYD.

Boring in any form.

But I wouldn't want them to end a concert in any other way, so I dunno. It's... weird?
