This is the list if anyone is interested:

Some of the list. Ugh.

I'd put Bono in the top 10 for if nothing else, the command his voice has over an audience.

Despite the cheese of the time period, you really have to put some of those hair metal band singers higher too. Axl Rose, Sammy Hagar, the guy from Def Leppard, the guy from Tesla and Sebastian Bach could hits notes night after night that many frontmen could only dream about.

This seems more like a singer/songwriter list (of course, 2 of the top 4 were not songwriters). Bob Dylan Can. Not. Sing. Lou Reed DOES. NOT. SING.

stupid list.

Geez the top 3 should be
1. Andy Gibb
2. Cyndi Lauper
3. Boy George
Hey and where's Madonna and Chris Martin - thought they were Q favorite pets?

It's impossible to come up with a list of only 100 male and female vocalists and not leave off some heavy hitters. And to try to cover all years and all genres, just dumb.

Here's a web site with some interesting lists. Click on the Music Lists.

The Greatest Rock Vocal Performances seems to be the type of list Q is going for. The Greatest Lyrical Performances puts another spin on it. The Greatest Frontmen of Rock is amusing. Bono is in between Alice Cooper and Roger Daltrey.
