It's been a while since we had one of these threads. And since the new album is not gonna be out till 2012, might as well play around with the last one.
Here's the version I'm digging right now...
1. City Of Blinding Lights
2. All Because Of You (alternate)
3. Native Son
4. Miracle Drug
5. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
6. Original Of The Species (single)
7. Yahweh (alternate)
8. Love And Peace Or Else
9. Fast Cars
10. A Man And A Woman
11. Crumbs From Your Table
12. Are You Gonna Wait Forever
13. One Step Closer
14. Mercy
The whole thing seperates pretty nicely into 7 tracks each on Side A and Side B. Screw that 11 songs bullshit! It starts with 3 upbeat songs and then goes mellow instead of the Vertigo-Miracle Drug non flow affair. I think Sometimes flows perfectly into OOTS just like in concert. Yahweh's alternate version is a lot better than the album one, to these ears. LAPOE starts side B leading into a couple of acoustic sounding songs. I was gonna include the Crumbs HQ version but it doesn't have that middle 8 which I like from the album version. Sure, it's a tad overproduced but I don't care, overall I like it. It's not nearly as badly overproduced as ABOY album version anyway. Then comes the underrated Vertigo B side followed by a song you could end the album with if you don't like Mercy. But I think Mercy is the perfect closer. So yeah... I think I'll burn this version for my car. It's a lot better than the actual album IMO.
