I prefer the bomb but only slightly since the positions 4-9 in my album chart are always messed up. I think that HTDAAB is a better overall album and it has more high points than Pop.

If that crap called Miami wasn't there LNOE - Gone - The Playboy Mansion would made a great sequence to me, they are my 3 favourite songs in PoP. And the ending of this album is great too, Please - WUDM

But the Bomb wins, mainly because of the Side B. I love all the 5 songs after ABOY (another horrible song to tie with Miami). And the Bomb has COBL and Yahweh, two songs with the epic and anthemic sound that I love

Pop is the much better album for me. I dont dislike HTDAAB, I dont care about the concept of safeness or commercial value, I just think Pop has better songs.

Awesome: Discotheque, Do You Feel Loved, IGWSHA, Last Night on Earth, Gone, The Playboy Mansion, If You Wear That Velvet Dress, Please, Wake Up Dead Man

Good: Mofo, Miami

Average: Staring at the Sun

I would only consider Pop my #6/#7 fav u2 album but I love nearly all the songs.

HTDAAB 7/10

Awesome: Vertigo, Miracle Drug, Love + Peace or Else, City of Blinding Lights, One Step Closer, Yahweh

Good: Sometimes You Cant Make It.... All Because of You, Crumbs From Your Table, Fast Cars

Poor: A Man and A Woman, OOTS

I like Htdaab but it is my least fav u2 album. As you can see tho there are only 2 tracks I dont like, which join with ATYCLB's Wild Honey as the 3 songs by u2 I think are their worst.

This really tough for me too. They're always switching places in the order of my favorite u2 albums. Anyways right now i'd have to go with htdaab just because it has a better consistency of good songs. Maybe if the best of version of gone was on pop i would like pop more.

This is a really strange mix, I must say [Pop vs. How To...]

Pop is one of those albums I know is good in it's own right but will never be a favourite of mine. I last listened to it last night but it's the first time in ages...it's like "War" [though I really like War] it's just an album I can't listen to that much because [in Pop's case] I keep thinking there's going to be something more when it comes to the music but I end up being slightly disappointed by the whole affair.

I much prefer 'How to...' since the songs are much better despite my moaning about the production being a bit over the top...plus it flow better, and will remind me of one of the best times of my life last year when I met someone really awesome, yadda yadda yadda, but still...great album. Especially with Original of the Species and Yahweh closing.

Miami is AWESOME, one of my favourite tracks by U2.

Both contain an unusually large number of songs that irritate me, so lets get that out the way right up front. Neither ranks very high as a result of these clunkers:

But, on the whole, I give it to POP on the strength of 2 rockers, Gone and Last Night on Earth, and its generally risk-taking experimental flavor. And, Velvet Dress is a top 20 for me.

Yahweh, Crumbs and OOTS keep it close, but no cigar.
