Okay, so your job is to pick a dream setlist for an upcoming tour to promote $$ for third world debt relief-- as such, it isn't an ATYCLB tour, so you need not base your setlist on the Elevation tours -- anything is fair game.

Remember to keep it a realistic length of ~20-23 songs, which would be played over 2:00-2:20 or so. . .

Mine --

1. Discotheque
2. Even Better than the Real Thing
3. Elevation
4. New Year's Day
5. Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World
6. Sunday, Bloody Sunday
7. Running to Stand Still
8. Bad / Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
9. In God's Country
10. Angel of Harlem / When Love Comes to Town
11. Staring at the Sun (Acoustic)
12. Stuck in a Moment (Acoustic)
13. Please
14. Where the Streets Have No Name
15. Pride

Encore:
16. Ultraviolet
17. Lemon/With or Without You (ZooTV style)
18. One
19. Peace on Earth/Walk On/Hallelujah

I think that would be cool if U2 someday did a tour that was not to promote an album. I've seen that happen with other acts, like Bruce Springsteen on his 1999-2000 tour, Bryan Adams and I think that is what is happening with Green Day this summer, and it is nice not to have a huge chunck of the show be from a current album. Well anyway, here's my setlist:

1. Bad (imagine the lights going down, and then you hear the music to this starting up in the dark.)
2. Elevation
3. Even Better Than The Real Thing
4. Until The End Of The World
5. New Year's Day
6. Stuck In A Moment
7. A Sort Of Homecoming
8. In God's Country
9. I Will Follow
10. 11 0'Clock Tick Tock
11. Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
12. If God Will Send His Angels
13. Twighlight
14. Out Of Control
15. Running To Stand Still
16. Where The Streets Have No Name
17. Pride

18. Bullet The Blue Sky
19. Ultraviolet
20. With Or Without You(have Ultraviolet go right into this song)
21. The Fly

22. One
23. 40

Live from Veterans Stadium...

1.) I Will Follow
("Tonight, Philadelphia...for you I..WILL...FOLLOW..."
2.) Beautiful Day
3.) Desire
4.) Until the End of the World
5.) Dirty Day
6.) Running to Stand Still
7.) In God's Country
8.) Rejoice
9.) Out of Control
10.) With or Without You
11.) Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
12.) One
13.) In a Little While
14.) Stay
15.) Bad
16.) Ultraviolet
17.) Streets

ENCORE:
1.) In My Life (occasionally performed with Stuck during Elevation)
2.) Stuck
3.) Walk On
4.) All I Want Is You
5.) "40"

Maybe a little long, but...well, it's a dream, after all.

(EDIT: After realizing I had egregiously omitted "Ultraviolet," my favorite song from AB, I tossed "Staring at the Sun" in favor of "UV.")

Damnit! somehow I managed to not make 40 the last song on mine. RATS. Bats.

Now I'm reconsidering having tossed "Staring at the Sun," because the only U2 album I didn't touch on in my setlist was Pop. I have at least one song from every other album.

Don't worry about it Pax, I don't plan on having any Pop on my setlist. Just pick what YOU really want and don't worry about patronizing all the albums. This is just for fun anyway!;)

Am I the only one who thinks Pop was an amazing album ???
Maybe it's because I like techno/dance music and Pop certainly has a bit of streak of that genre. . . but I think it was a fantastic album -- the tour was a little over the top -- but that was the whole point!!

I love the way on that tour they had please go into streets, I thought that was a wonderfully powerful way of beginning the song. . . the drone of Bono's pleeeeeeeeaaase giving way to Edge and the beginning of Streets. It was amazing!!
