What was the best and worst opening act you've ever seen at a U2 show, any year, any tour? Which ones just didn't fit in with U2 and seemed lame, and who rocked?

I never knew the bald lesbian opened for them. Which tour?

Garbage were awesome opening up for U2 during Elevation in the fall. Great band, and they never tried to make us think they were bigger than U2, but still they had lots of energy (even when their amp blew out!).

I loved PJ Harvey during the first leg of the Elevation Tour.

Worst would have to be No Doubt. Can't stand 'em. *ducks*

Thanks, I didn't know they didn't take Oasis to Europe. Looks like you got 2 baldies for the price of one LOL! Any pics of the two cueballs together?

I have to say Garbage did rock. PJ was okay but not my thing.

Garbage was excellent. I haven't seen any bad openers yet. *crosses fingers*

"You must not look down on someone just 'cos they are 14 years old. When I was that age I listened to the music of John Lennon and it changed my way of seeing things, so I'm just glad that 14 year olds are coming to see U2 rather than group X." - Bono, 1988

Worst band: Smashmouth. I know they're really popular and everything, but they just turned me off. Their set sounded like a bunch of noise and every time they stopped, the lead singer would be all, "f--- this and f--- that." I have nothing against the word, but excessive, unnecessary use of it just annoys the hell out of me.

Best: PJ Harvey. That woman doesn't get enough credit. She rocks!

It HAS to be them, can't think of another bald lesbian in a band... I didn't know they opened for U2, kinda cool.

btw, you who got to see PJ Harvey are sooo lucky!! I got to see the mediocre band stereophonics... :/ they were incredibly boring and meaningless.

Surprisingly, I really liked PJ Harvey,

Lets see, bad =

Disposible Heroes of Hiphoprisy
Primus
Little Steven
Howie B

best- the pixies (followed closely by rage and then primus)

worst- third eye blind- absolutley horrible live band.

I've only seen U2 twice

and to be honest I didn't really like either support band. Sorry guys.

Worst: With out a doubt, Rage Against the Machine.

Best: Oasis, No Doubt

I loved the Stereophonics personally, and Garbage rocked as always.

I am pretty sure it is Skunk Anansie. I am 99% sure that Sinead O'Connor has never played with U2 on the same bill. If I am wrong, I am sure I will find out soon enough

In fairness, they were okay.

Hey, I didn't know Skunk Anansie opened for U2. I kinda like some of their songs.
