One Step Closer reminds me of The First Time cross between Miss Sarajevo.

Just had to let that out...

It reminds me a bit of Passengers' quieter moments and the First time.

One of my favorites on the album.

"I'm on an island in a busy intersection".

Hmmmm. Wish we were one step closer to knowing what this meant. A traffic island perhaps, he's in the middle of a round-a-bout. Learn to use your indicators Bono.

That's exactly how I described the song when I first heard it.

The First Time for the general atmosphere; Miss Sarajevo for the chords.

The only song off the new album that I can't get into. It does get better towards the end but...

I don't know why--but I cry everytime I listen to. I guess cause we really are One Step Closer to Knowing.

It reminds me a little bit of October if October had more lyrics.

I can totally hear the melody of "Slow Dancing" in the verses.

I was very unmoved by it at first, now I see it as a sleeper hit on the album.
