I'll take it upon myself to make a thread to countdown the days until the official worldwide release of Vertigo on Friday September 24th 2004. This is gonna be a huge upcoming period for U2 and this single will be the founding stone.

See below a report from an Irish News Website. I didn't realise that MTV had also confirmed the release dates.

U2 set release date for new record
It is reported that U2 will release their as-yet-untitled album on 23 November.

MTV.com reports that the album will be preceded by the single 'Vertigo', which will be released to radio stations on 24 September.

A video for 'Vertigo' will follow in October.

I must admit that I love to count down just about everything.

I even wrote a computer program in Visual Basic that lets me keep track and do a simultaneous countdown towards all of the different events that I'm looking forward to in this year and the next (I used to have it counting down the hours, minutes, and seconds as well but that got to be a bit much...)!
