PLEASE VOTE FOR YOUR LEAST FAVOURITE SONG!

The loser of the last round was Kite. We are now reaching the final stages of the competition, and according to the votes here, U2's top five non-single songs are The Electric Co., Running To Stand Still, Heartland, Zoo Station, and Zooropa. It's now time to put them in order.

Last Round's Voting Results:
34 - Kite
21 - Heartland
20 - Zooropa
7 - The Electric Co., Zoo Station
2 - Running To Stand Still

Total votes = 91

Already Eliminated From The Final:
6. Kite
5. Like A Song ...
4. Promenade
3. Do You Feel Loved
2. Love And Peace Or Else
1. Tomorrow

How to play: Each album will have a series of rounds of voting. In an album's first round, all non-singles from the album will be listed and you vote for the song you think is the WORST. The song with the most votes is eliminated. This continues through the subsequent rounds until we are left with just one song from each album. These victorious songs proceed to the final, which will be conducted in the same manner until just one song is left, which you can consider to be the Best Non-Single or Least Objectionable Non-Single, depending upon your perspective.

If there's a draw, for most rounds, both songs are eliminated. If there's only 2 or 3 songs left, I'll leave the poll open for another day, when there'll hopefully be a decisive outcome.

Zoo Station.

I was tempted to vote for Zooropa to help save Heartland, but I've been voting on principle of what I believe the worst song to be and I'm not going to change that now. If Heartland must go, I'd like it to go as fairly as possible (i.e. no alters). I've promoted strategic voting in the past and I know others support it, but I'd now rather vote for what I think is worse and let general consensus rather than strategy win.

Electric Co.
It blew me away on this past tour, but we're not voting on live versions, and I love the studio versions of the other songs even more.

Misleading.....because who's to say that a runnerup from another album wouldn't have done better than one of those?

Anyway, my ranking of what's left.......

1. Running To Stand Still (Easily a classic track in every sense, and really a shocking Best Of omission)
2. Zooropa (Kind of a single since there was a promo and it got a lot of radio play for a time.........great tune, even better with the intro cut off)
3. Zoo Station (A fine introduction to AB)
4. The Electric Co. (A great energy packed early track)
5. Heartland (Best nonsingle from Rattle and Hum, but it shouldn't have got this far in the final round)

While I thought of that, I don't know how we could get a more fair indication of the five top non-singles according to the Interference voters. I'm open to any good ideas, though.

2. Zooropa (Kind of a single since there was a promo and it got a lot of radio play for a time.........great tune, even better with the intro cut off)

Yeah, Zooropa was one of the hazy ones, but it fulfilled the two criteria of not being a commercial single and not having a video, so it made the contest. I disagree about the intro; I think that's as essential as Streets' intro in establishing the feel of the song.

Zooropa is my favourite U2 song of all time.
Both The Electric Co, Running To Stand Still and Zoo Station are in my Top 10 - Heartland I'm afraid.

My top 5 out of the songs left:

1. Running to Standstill :)wink:)
2. Zooropa
3. The Electric Co.
4. Zoo Station
5. Heartland

So, in summation, sorry Heartland.

SAVE ZOOROPA.

Edit: Or, I guess save Electric Co. Heh.

Heartland. Get outta here! Can't believe it made it this far...pretty much a forgettable song from RAH, IMO...only here because 1). All the other songs on R&H were either singles or live, and 2). It's never been fully played live---the same reason people like Acrobat & why folks craved Crumbs for most of this tour...even if they won't admit or recognize that that's the reason. :macdevil:

I'm torn....do I waste my vote on Zooropa, or do I vote for Electric Co. To save Heartland, because really I believe with Axver, we should be voting for the worst songs...and really IMO Zooropa is the worst one...and also IMO that intro doesn't make me feel excited like the intro to Streets does, it just kinda creeps me out

-votes Heartland-

This is definitely a hard choice to make. While I think this is one of Bono's best vocal performances, the song as a whole can sometimes seem bland and I find myself needing to be "in the mood" to listen to this type of moody music. I think the 4 other songs have alot more energy and are overall more fun to listen to! :D
