These are based off the first batch of lyrics. Didn't see your second try, but we came to some of the same conclusions... one of the only major changes I see is the weak/wink line.

Is it just me or do some of the lplaces were he sings high and loud sound like the bring in the clowns bit of electric co live. The first time would be "You love me... too much"

The more I listen to it, the first verse Bono sounds like the singer of Echo and The Bunnymen.

And he does in other parts as well.

If Mercy and Are You Gonna Wait Forever were on the album, I would think it as good as Achtung Baby.

Mercy is a lot like Miracle Drug, kinda like the B Side, Always, was like Beautiful Day.

Given the limitations of yousendit.com (7 days and/or 25 dl's), I'm gonna go ahead & post this song on my u2 mp3 website. (Hopefully I won't get into any trouble, but I'm not posting any songs from the actual 11 track album -- except live versions -- so I'm thinking it'll be cool...)

So as some of you know my story about meeting Bono a couple weeks ago in San Jose.... he said to me "Darling, watch out for Mercy, you will love it, its one of my favorites"

Anyways, somehow I believe I have Mercy in my possession

I have a cd copy I was given with a track 12 on it.... and in my opinion it may be Mercy. It is 6:31 and in Blender it describes it as "the track "Mercy", a six-and-a-half minute outpouring of U2 at its most uninhibitedly U2-ish", Hence a song that any self-respecting band would be proud to call a single becomes what Bono immediately anoints "the best b-side you've ever heard"...
It's an awesome song, I absolutely love it
