DVD question

Am I the only one that thinks the sound on my DVD is crap?? I dont know what it is, every other DVD I play the sound is crisp and clear but when I play the best of its crunchy, almost slightly static-y. I would say its the crappy speakers on my tv, but I dont have this problem with other DVDs.

:help:

Another question.

Can the screensaver be saved and lets say, emailed to someone who doesnt have a DVD rom? :|

You should be able to access the screensaver on your TV also. I've been able to access it pressing 1 1 1 at the One Video menu.

(I am assuming you're talking about the trabants in the fish tank, if not nevermind.)

Woah, that did work.. but how do I get it on my computer as a screensaver? What good is looking at it on my TV. :(

Any other tricks I should know about? :hyper:

best of U2 DVD oddity

on Mysterious ways, a lyric is changed, instead of saying: "she'll be there when you hit the ground" bono says something else. it's hard to hear. why is this changed?
also is there any hidden stuff on the DVD?

Why didnt you add this to your existing thread?

I'm moving this to EYKIW and merging it with my thread.. I'm asking pretty much the same questions you are. Plus dont you know by now that EYKIW is where you discuss U2 stuff?

minor nitpicks. why isn't the third video of one included? and the proper UTEOTW video? also i freaked out with the placeholder thingy for the dvd that comes with the album.
U2 really need to release every single video they have on DVD. this is excellent.

sorry sicy, i haven't been to the board in ages.
i understand your sound issue, the DVD sounded like crap on my tv, but the sound through my PC was fucking awesome. i think it's because the DVD is tuned to Dolby Digital and they forgot to include an option to turn it off for regular TV's. most DVD's defualt to stereo and you have to go to the menu to chenge it or the player detects it, but the U2 DVD seems to only be in surround hence it sounds all muddled and staticy through regular speakers. such a shame really, and the picture has not been remastered at all. more nitpicks but i guess beggars cannot be choosers.

No problem.. I love the move and merge features

I am so glad I'm not the only one with the sound problem. That kinda blows. :slant:

sicy you want to install the one screensaver on your PC? it's easy. just go to myPC then open the DVD up and click the 'common' folder, then 'win' folder, then 'win' folder again. you should see a little exe. file called 'one_setup.exe. click that and install it.
to send it to your friend just save the exe and send them that.

It wont even read the disk.. I dont have a DVD rom.. it keeps saying insert disk into drive.

I have another question... can you only access the alternative videos on a DVD Rom?

nope. i've been over at Lemon Meringue's place today watching the DVD and what you have to do is go to the option where you can pick each track one at a time from a play list. Then when you pick the track another screen comes up. If there is more than one version of the video, it will have each director's name and you can select either one. ALSO, by some of the director's names there is a little microphone symbol and if you pick that one it plays the video with the sound slightly down and the director comments on the music video...recollections of how they made it, what the band was like, etc. It is SUPER cool. Behind the scenes stories. :D:D:D

yep, DVD-rom files are saved in 2 chunks, video and audio. i cannot seperate them short of using a specialised program like virtual dub or something.
if you want the exe, msg me on AIM: brownheyzues

That does not work for me...when I press 1 it just runs and goes back to the One Menu...I did this like 6 times and no screen saver.

Another question...is it just me or does the software that the dvd forces you to use on the computer really suck...the quality on my computer was really bad.

I was about to give up .. it took me a few times, I dunno then it all of a sudden came up. I think you have to hit it just right. But you cant do anything with it.. lol.. just look at it. :der:
